What I love about Austin: To give a spin on the classic David Kirby song, I wasn't born in Austin but I got here as fast as I could (I know, I'm hardly the only one). Austin's a vibrant outlier in the great state of Texas and it should be a place for everyone. It's a city and community that's constantly changing, one that holds proudly to the idea of being weird (Portland, love you, but we want our slogan back), and is, at its best, a mosaic of the arts, technology, nature, and intimate involvement with the beautiful people here.
What I love about Austin: No matter what your passions are, you can find both small and large communities of like-minded folks here that share those passions!

What I love about Austin: As a northeast transplant I found a friendly place with a strong sense of community and and a love for all things creative! The key to Austin’s success is.. it’s not what you take, it’s what you give back.
What I love about Austin: The colorful mix of people and events, trails to run on, secret swimming holes, the Springs, the Hill Country, chips & salsa on every corner and I'd take the heat over the cold of the Northeast any day.

What I love about Austin: I love the small town vibe that Austin still holds even though it's growing more and more each day. I love that we have so many outdoor activities to choose from almost year round like paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake or a dip in Barton Springs. Tacos and queso and margaritas and live music top it off!
What I love about Austin: I love that Austin is a vibrant creative hub with all the excitement of a growing city. Having lived in several cities in the United States, I feel like I can say with some degree of assuredness, that Austin's energetic and welcoming culture is unique. Oh and the food! Is there enough space here to write about the food? No? Well I'll be quick. Whether it's standing in a BBQ line for hours or grabbing a fancy frozen banana, Austin has you covered... in queso.

What I love about Austin: One of the things I love most about Austin is the Austin Public Library. It's hands down one of the best library systems I have ever encountered, and I don't care how nerdy that sounds. I also love the community here in Austin, how there is something for everyone, and seemingly a festival for every interest group. There is never any shortage of something to do.
What I love about Austin: Besides all of the obvious fun, the unique local restaurants, bars and breweries, murals and live music, I have found Austin to be a place that unearths people's creative talents and provides a community to explore their potential.
What I love about Austin: Like many others, I was drawn to Austin by the live music, and I love seeing shows at Mohawk, Emo’s, Empire, anywhere!
Austin has beautiful, green parks, and I enjoy exploring the hike and bike trails.
I’m also a big fan of all of our brilliant local craft beer breweries!
What I love about Austin: I love that there is always something new and exciting to do in Austin. The people of Austin are not only open to trying new things but seem to relish it. It’s a culture of vibrant creatives that are constantly building new experiences in art, theater, food, music, outdoor activities, etc. If there’s a budding interest in something, you’re sure to soon discover a fully bloomed idea in unexpected colors.

What I love about Austin: Just like people, cities change and grow. The Austin of today is decidedly not the Austin of of my youth, but it still offers an incredible wealth of art, music, and friendship. Add to that the food and beverage scene, and you'd be hard pressed to find another city that can come close to matching it. Plus, most of the people I love are here, and I meet more of them every day.
