Shock the Vote asked Patika a series of Shocking questions and this is what they had to say:

What does your organization do?

We're a retail coffee shop and café

What do you love about Austin?

The people in Austin are genuinely nice. It attracts folks who are looking for that and looking to make connections with other people. And I love that you can know someone for months before you ever know what they do for a living. It's the last thing that you find out about someone.

Why do you vote?

I'm an optimist. I believe our elected leaders will (eventually) do what's best for the people, and only by showing up and communicating with leaders will they know what we see on the ground and how best to help solve problems.

Who is one of your favorite Austin entertainment groups?

Shakey Graves. The Black Angels. Willie.

Who is your favorite Austin business or restaurant?

Olamaie (great food, great folks). Brew and Brew / Better Half (great coffee, great food, great folks). Travis Heights Wine and Spirits (Close by!; neighborly, experts).

What is your favorite nonprofit organization in Austin?

The Trail Foundation. The Long Center. The Kind Clinic. Wee Rescue. Emancipet.

What is your favorite Halloween treat?

"I voted" stickers! And I used to love Marathon bars (chocolate-coated braided caramel), but I don't think they make them anymore.
